As winter embraces the southern hemisphere, Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate in Hermanus, is buzzing with an array of activities that blend the best of art, culture and winemaking.
This June, the estate is participating in the world renowned Fynarts festival and also celebrating the launch of Leonardslee Family Wines in West Sussex, England, marking a significant milestone in the international journey of the Streeter family’s wine and hospitality enterprise. During the Fynarts festival, Benguela Cove will exhibit selected artists, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a month-long celebration of renaissance-inspired artworks.
The estate, recently ranked 53rd on the list of the world’s best vineyards, offers guests a special treat – a complimentary tasting of its trio of estate-grown wines: Estate Syrah, Lighthouse Syrah (Moody Lagoon), and Estate Pinot Noir.
This month also witnesses the launch of Leonardslee Family Wines in England, a venture that symbolises the deep connection between the Streeter family’s estates in South Africa and the UK.
The swallow, chosen as the emblem for this launch, represents the migration of both the birds and the Streeter family across continents, highlighting their journey from Africa to England. This event celebrates the shared winemaking heritage and the family’s commitment to excellence across both vineyards, under the stewardship of winemaker Johann Fourie and his teams in each country.

Food and wine pairings are available daily, overlooking the scenic lagoon.
