Western Cape’s Finest Restaurants Compete for Top Honours at South Africa Restaurant Awards 2025

The Western Cape has once again dominated the South Africa Restaurant Awards (SARATABLE), with an exclusive selection of nominees hailing from the Western Cape set to compete for top honours on April 7, 2025, at Hotel Sky in Sandton. The prestigious awards ceremony will recognise the country’s top dining establishments, chefs, and hospitality professionals, and the Western Cape’s strong showing reaffirms its status as South Africa’s culinary capital.

Among the Western Cape’s most notable nominees, La Colombe leads the pack with a nomination for Best Culinary Experience and Best Restaurant in Cape Town. Known for its innovative approach to fine dining and seamless fusion of global flavours, La Colombe has remained a consistent leader in South Africa’s restaurant industry.

Another standout is FYN, a restaurant that has redefined Cape Town’s dining landscape by blending Japanese techniques with South African ingredients. Its nomination for Best Culinary Experience and Best Restaurant in Cape Town showcases its impact on the food scene. Salsify at the Roundhouse, with its breathtaking setting in Camps Bay, is another firm favourite, earning nods in multiple categories.

In the Best New Restaurant category, Mill St Bistro in Stellenbosch has quickly captured the attention of food lovers, offering a fresh take on contemporary cuisine. Similarly, Room 91 in Cape Town has made waves with its eclectic menu and stylish setting, highlighting the city’s ever-evolving dining scene.

Constantia’s Foxcroft and Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia continue to impress in the fine dining space, while The Test Kitchen Fledgelings is recognised for its role in developing young culinary talent, reinforcing the Western Cape’s reputation as a hub for innovation and excellence.

The awards also acknowledge establishments that excel in hospitality and service. The Cellars-Hohenort, a luxury hotel restaurant in Constantia, has earned praise for its outstanding service, along with Belly of the Beast and The Pot Luck Club in Cape Town, both known for their immersive dining experiences.

Public voting for the awards remains open until March 30, 2025, on the social platform Telephonos, allowing food lovers to support their favourite Western Cape restaurants. The winners will be revealed in a grand ceremony, celebrating the dedication and craftsmanship of South Africa’s best chefs and restaurateurs.
