The Stellenbosch food and wine community is coming together for an evening that promises far more than exceptional cuisine and fine wines. On 24 June 2026, some of the Cape Winelands’ most respected chefs, winemakers and hospitality professionals will gather at Lanzerac Estate Hotel & Spa to honour and support one of South Africa’s most beloved food personalities, Errieda du Toit.Cuisi
The special fundraising dinner aims to raise financial support for Du Toit and her family as she faces acute medical challenges. Every rand generated through ticket sales will be donated directly to assist her during this difficult time.
A Cherished Voice in South African Food
For decades, Du Toit has been a familiar and trusted presence in South African kitchens. Through her work as the huiskok on RSG, her role as food content producer for the popular television series Kokkedoor, and her extensive contributions as a cookbook author, she has helped shape the country’s food culture.
Her published works include the Kokkedoor cookbooks, MasterChef SA – The Cookbook and Share: A Century of South African Community Recipes. Through these projects, she has documented, celebrated and preserved the rich diversity of South African food traditions.
Beyond recipes and television screens, Du Toit has earned a reputation as a storyteller who connects people through food, bringing generations and communities together around the table.

A Community Steps Forward
The fundraiser is being presented by Onderstok Food Creative, a collective of Stellenbosch chefs dedicated to celebrating creativity, food and community, in partnership with the Stellenbosch Wine Routes.
The event has been made possible through an extraordinary display of generosity from across the region’s hospitality sector. Lanzerac, along with chefs, wine producers, suppliers and hospitality partners, have donated their time, expertise and products to ensure the evening’s success.
The gathering will be hosted by media personality Martelize Brink, who has also volunteered her time in support of the initiative.
An Exceptional Culinary Experience
Guests attending the dinner can expect a memorable showcase of Stellenbosch hospitality and culinary talent.
The chef line-up includes some of the Cape Winelands’ most respected names, among them Bertus Basson, Garth Bedford, Drikus Brink, Marthinus Ferreira, Stephen Fraser, Cornelle Minie, Shaun Scrooby, Michelle Theron and Jess van Dyk.
Together, they will create an evening that celebrates the very values Du Toit has championed throughout her career: generosity, community, storytelling and the joy of sharing a meal.
According to Basson, Du Toit has touched countless lives through her passion for food and her ability to bring people together. The dinner, he says, is the community’s way of giving something back while recognising the significant contribution she has made to South African food culture.
More Than a Dinner
While the evening will undoubtedly offer world-class food and wine, its true significance lies in the spirit behind it. The fundraiser serves as a reminder of the deep connections that exist within South Africa’s food and hospitality industry, where colleagues become friends and communities rally together in times of need.
For guests fortunate enough to attend, the evening offers the opportunity to enjoy outstanding Stellenbosch hospitality while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Those unable to attend can still support Du Toit and her family through the dedicated Back-a-Buddy fundraising campaign established in her honour.
In a world where food often brings people together for celebration, this special Stellenbosch gathering demonstrates its power to unite people in compassion, gratitude and support when it matters most.
