Staged on Thursday, 30 July 2026, from 17:00 to 21:00, this world-class showcase brings the absolute pinnacle of South African red winemaking under one spectacular roof. Hosted by Caroline Rillema of the legendary Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar, the event offers a rare opportunity to taste the country’s most prestigious flagship releases in a single evening.
Ninety Producers, One Exceptional Standard
The format of the Red Wine Review is what makes it entirely unique. Rather than presenting entire commercial portfolios, South Africa’s leading red wine producers have been strictly invited to showcase only one flagship wine each.
This curated approach creates an unparalleled lineup of 90 of the country’s most awarded and applauded top-tier bottles. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Pinotage, Cinsault, and Grenache, alongside masterfully crafted Bordeaux-style, Rhône-style, and Cape blends.
Crucially, the winemakers and passionate minds behind these phenomenal labels will be standing at the tables themselves, offering guests an insider’s perspective on the craftsmanship, terroir, and stories behind every bottle.
A Panoramic New Setting
Moving to an elevated new backdrop, the 2026 review will be held in the Members’ Lounge on the 4th Floor of the DHL Stadium in Green Point. This massive, glass-fronted venue opens up onto a sweeping veranda, offering panoramic views of the stadium and the Cape Town skyline, setting a sophisticated, exhilarating tone for the walk-around tasting.
