Cape Town’s Cape Grace Hotel, now managed by Fairmont, has recently completed a seven-month renovation, transforming its dining experience and aesthetics while preserving its classic ambiance. The former Signal Restaurant is now Heirloom, a 90-seater venue offering both à la carte and tasting menus with options that highlight the local natural elements—mountain, land, and sea.
Chef Greg Czarnecki, known from his tenure at The Restaurant at Waterkloof, leads the culinary program. He works alongside head chef Asher Abramowitz, aiming to innovate while maintaining the hotel’s comforting, homey feel cherished by longtime patrons. Their approach focuses on minimalistic elegance and quality, emphasizing sustainable luxury through service and experience rather than traditional abundance.
The hotel boasts a prime location on the west quay of Cape Town’s waterfront, offering tranquillity and stunning views away from the city bustle. This setting enhances the dining experience at Heirloom, which seamlessly transitions from hotel breakfast service to lunch and dinner, presenting diners with creatively curated dishes that feature ingredients like celeriac.
