Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate has announced a series of visitor events in August and September 2022. They include the Winter Winemakers’ Lunch, which will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 12:00. This features a four-course gourmet lunch paired with Benguela Cove wines, and hosted by estate cellar master, Johann Fourie.
Resident chef Annie Badenhorst will oversee the event at Moody Lagoon restaurant, which features warming fires and views across the lagoon. During the rest of the winter months, visitors can enjoy the seasonal tasting menu, which is served every week from Wednesday to Sunday for lunch, from 12:00 to 15:00, with weekend brunch from 10:00 to 11:30.
The winter programme at Benguela Cove also includes the popular Women’s Day event, on Tuesday, 9th August. The event will include a ‘pink bubbly’ breakfast, a floral design and arrangement class, and an art event where visitors can paint images of flowers with the help of an experienced artist.
The estate will host the cycling ‘Race to the Sea’ and the finish of this iconic 100-mile (164-kilometre) journey from Franschhoek to Hermanus on Saturday, September 3rd. The riders and their supporters can book cheese fondue, ciabatta, and gluhwein in the tasting room, wine tastings and food pairings, and vineyard safaris and experiences ideal for guests of all ages.
Finally, children and the young at heart can enter the Pirate Adventure Golf competition until the end of August. Every week, the highest-scoring player will win a free round of adventure golf for three players.
