Miss South Africa’s Top 10 finalists are an impressive group and include a candidate attorney; students studying law, performing arts and dietetics; a psychology honours graduate; entrepreneurs and small business owners and models.
The contestants represent five provinces – Gauteng (4), KZN (2), Western Province (2) with Limpopo and North West with one finalist each. The two finalists representing the Western Cape are Luvé Meyer and Tamsyn Jack.
Luvé Meyer (25) comes from Brackenfell. She has a Bachelor of Health Science and Social Services degree and an honours degree in psychology from the University of South Africa and is a full-time model and small business co-owner. Meyer made it to the Top 35 in 2020.
The power of one more – “I was truly shocked when my name was announced as a Top 10 finalist. It was a validation of entering again. I always knew I would regret it if I didn’t try once more. I have grown so much as a person and have so much more confidence. I am going to enjoy every minute of this journey and take in every moment as well as celebrate this accomplishment, ” Luvé said.
Serve Others – Tamsyn Jack (25), from Somerset West is an entrepreneur working with some of South Africa’s leading start-ups and small businesses. She graduated with a Food Science Degree from the University of Stellenbosch. Says Jack: “When I finished my final interview with the judges, I walked out hoping that they had got my essence and understood who I was as a person. Making it into the Top 10 is confirmation that they did. I am over the moon and grateful to be on this journey. Furthermore, I am at my happiest when I am serving others, and this is an incredible leadership platform to do just that. I am looking forward to the finale and I just want to stay true to myself and be authentic.”
The Miss South Africa pageant is back in Gauteng this year with the 2022 winner set to be crowned at Sun International’s flagship venue, the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, 13 August.
