Okapi’s Eco-Luxury Boutique Launches at Anthonij Rupert Wine Farm

Okapi boutique

Okapi, a well-known luxury accessory brand, has recently opened a new store at the Anthonij Rupert Wine Farm in Franschhoek. This store, located in the historic Manor House, combines Okapi’s commitment to sustainable luxury with the farm’s eco-friendly focus. Jeanine Benjamin, the COO of Okapi, South Africa, explains that Okapi is all about sustainable luxury. Each product has a story, reflecting ethical sourcing, timeless design, and environmental care.

The new store at Anthonij Rupert Wine Farm is more than just a shop; it’s a destination that showcases Okapi’s love for nature and sits beautifully in one of South Africa’s most stunning spots. Okapi is famous for using ethically sourced exotic leathers like springbok and ostrich, as well as local cowhides. This not only supports South African artisans and communities, but also reflects the brand’s dedication to local materials and craftsmanship.

The Okapi store has some exciting items. There’s a new limited edition rattan Nambi Clutch and the Nambi Feather Clutch. Plus, there’s a decorative leather and felt handle to give a fresh look to popular bags like the Aja Pouch and the Yemaja. For those wanting something unique, customers can design their own bags, choosing their favourite skins, colours, and trims.

Okapi’s range now includes tableware – think table mats, vases, and glasses – as well as games like backgammon and playing cards. There’s also a collection of jewellery and hand-drawn silk scarves. The store itself, in the revamped Manor House, is a work of art.
Designed by a team skilled in luxury boutiques, it features an original wooden ceiling, a custom carpet reflecting the local scenery, curved shelving, and unique marble tables and wooden islands that highlight local plants and animals. It’s a sophisticated shopping experience, made even better with the estate’s signature bubbly and nougat pairing.

Jeanine Benjamin adds that the new Okapi boutique is a fantastic addition to the local fashion scene in Franschhoek, appealing to both locals and visitors. It offers a chance to explore top South African luxury, whether in a group or a more personal, one-on-one setting.
