Agriculture, community and the natural beauty of the Cape will come together at NAMPO Cape 2026, taking place at Bredasdorp Park from 9 to 12 September. Alongside agricultural exhibitions, machinery and technology, visitors can enjoy a diverse lifestyle programme featuring inspirational speakers, entertainment and the annual Fynbos flower exhibition.
Santam Landbou Women’s Programme
The Santam Landbou Women’s Programme will run from 9 to 11 September in the Distinctive Choice tent in front of the BKB building. Hosted by Beneschke Janse van Rensburg, this year’s programme follows the theme “Where farmers, food and community grow together.”
The three-day programme combines inspirational conversations, lifestyle content, food, faith, music and stories of resilience. While traditionally focused on women, men are also warmly invited to attend.
On Wednesday, 9 September, visitors can hear from Beneschke Janse van Rensburg and Sumarie Jordaan, enjoy music by Chris Else, and experience Mel die Storieverteller with Damien Beer.
Thursday’s programme features Lynette Beer, Dawid Engelbrecht presenting “Seafood on the farm”, and popular South African artist Brendan Peyper. On Friday, Koben Hofmeyr will share his inspiring “I walk again” story, while Franna Benadé and Willem Botha provide the musical entertainment.
Programme organiser Burre Burger says the sessions are designed to give visitors an opportunity to pause, listen, laugh and connect during the busy agricultural event.
Celebrating Cape Fynbos
Another highlight is the Fynbos flower exhibition in the Voermoel Hall, curated by acclaimed floral artist Marjolijn Malan.
This year’s exhibition explores idioms inspired by nature under the theme “Birds of a feather, flock together.” Large-scale floral installations will showcase the extraordinary diversity of the Cape floral kingdom, including rare plant species.
A floral-arrangement competition will challenge designers to creatively interpret familiar idioms through flowers and natural materials. Visitors will also be able to participate by voting for their favourite display.
Malan brings an international dimension to the exhibition. She has been selected by the South African Flower Union to represent South Africa at the World Association of Floral Artists world show in Sydney, Australia, in March 2027.
Something for Everyone
NAMPO Cape continues to offer an experience extending beyond the agricultural sector. The combination of farming innovation, entertainment, lifestyle activities and floral artistry creates an event where producers, families and visitors can experience different aspects of rural life.
Tickets are available online through OpenTickets and are valid for any single day. Adult tickets cost R110 online or R120 at the gate, while children’s tickets are R60 at the gate. Pre-school children enter free.
NAMPO Cape will be open from 08:00 to 17:00 from 9 to 11 September, with the final day, 12 September, running from 08:00 to 14:00.
With agriculture at its foundation and community at its heart, NAMPO Cape 2026 promises four days celebrating farming, creativity and the distinctive natural heritage of the Cape.
