The Investec Cape Town Art Fair has firmly established itself as the leading and largest international art fair on the African continent. Returning for its 13th edition from 20–22 February 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), the fair continues to position Cape Town as a vital hub for global contemporary art. With a strong focus on creative discovery, the fair champions artists who are shaping new conversations within the international art landscape.
An Unprecedented International Gathering
The 2026 edition brings together an extraordinary 126 exhibitors from 34 cities across 22 countries and five continents, showcasing work by 490 artists. This breadth of participation highlights the fair’s growing global reach while maintaining its commitment to elevating African and diasporic voices. Through exhibitions, curated sections, and public programming, the fair creates a space for meaningful cultural exchange between artists, collectors, curators, and audiences.
Expanded Prizes Supporting Artistic Innovation
A defining feature of the 2026 fair is its largest prize selection to date, reinforcing its role in recognising artistic excellence. Two new awards debut this year alongside three established prizes.
The ORMS International Photography Prize celebrates excellence in contemporary photography and is open to exhibiting photographers from anywhere in the world. Selected by a jury during the fair, the winner receives a cash prize and a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 printer, supporting the production of high-quality archival prints.
Another new addition is the Materiality Prize, presented in partnership with Homo Faber. This award recognises artists whose work demonstrates innovative use of materials and contemporary craftsmanship. The winner is invited to participate in the Homo Faber Fellowship Masterclass in Venice, with all costs covered, offering a rare opportunity for international training and exchange.
Continuing Commitment to Emerging and Curated Talent
The Tomorrows/Today Prize, supported by Fiera Milano Exhibitions Africa, rewards the most compelling presentation within the fair’s curated Tomorrows/Today section. Judged by an international panel led by curator Dr Mariella Franzoni, the prize highlights emerging voices shaping the future of contemporary art.
The Investec Emerging Artist Award continues its mission to support emerging South African artists working independently of major institutions. Meanwhile, the RDC Acquisition Prize provides artists with the opportunity to have their work exhibited in prominent buildings within RDC’s portfolio, extending visibility beyond the fair itself.
Tickets and Cultural Experiences
Tickets for Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2026 are now available, offering access to exhibitions, talks, and curated cultural experiences across the city. Limited Vernissage tickets provide entry to the opening evening and exclusive events, though early booking is advised.
As it returns in 2026, Investec Cape Town Art Fair reaffirms its role as a powerful platform for artistic innovation, cultural dialogue, and global connection—celebrating creativity at the forefront of contemporary art.
