Summer is the time to seek out fresh new food and wine delights – and one of the must-attend events this holiday season is Helderberg Fresh Fine Wine & Food Festival. It takes place in Somerset West on Saturday, 3 December, in the exquisite setting of 322-year-old Vergelegen Wine Estate.
More than 20 Helderberg top wineries will offer over 100 wines to swirl, sip and savour, while the Helderberg’s most talented chefs will vie to create the most tempting gourmet food, all included in the ticket price.
Guests will be treated to diverse culinary styles, including Michael Bridgeman of Stables Restaurant at Vergelegen; renowned Lebanese-born chef Ghenwa Steingaszner representing Ghenwa’s Culinary Club based at Lourensford; Stefan Bekker of Erinvale Hotel; and Botanicum at Morgenster. Craig Cormack and Beau du Toit will represent SALT at Waterford Estate, while Bertus Basson will be in attendance with a collaboration between Chorus at Waterkloof Vineyards and Clara’s Barn at Vergenoegd Löw.
Entertainment includes live music from singer-songwriter Gerry Liberty.
Vergelegen is a provincial heritage site renowned for its lush gardens, historic trees, architecture and culture, so it forms the perfect backdrop for this exceptional event.
