Redberry Farm in George on the Garden Route is an ideal destination for berry-lovers, fun-seeking families and outdoor enthusiasts. The farm is now home to a Giant Strawberry, standing tall at an astonishing 14,5 metres. A spiral staircase will take you to the top where you can admire the view of the nearby strawberry fields, Outeniqua mountains and the surrounding farms.
You can also conquer the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere at Redberry Farm. The maze consists of seven strawberry stations, a 25 m underground tunnel and a look-out point – found within 10 km of pathways. The hedges are grown from over 30 000 Syzygium Paniculatum plants.
Your goal is not to navigate your way to the exit, like in a traditional maze, but rather to find all seven strawberry stations hidden inside and to stamp your maze card with the unique icon at each station. You can claim a reward at the end only if you present your maze card stamped with the seven unique icons.
Experiences on offer also include picking your own strawberries, a Tea Garden and Farm Stall, the Red Shed Coffee & Berry Bar, a miniature train ride on the Redberry Express, a large outdoor playground, pedal go-carts, pony rides and bumper boats and bubble balls on the dam.
