Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance returns to the stage in Cape Town from 14–17 August 2025 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, as part of the A Lifetime of Standing Ovations tour. This world-renowned Irish dance production features 40 elite performers, led by veteran dancer Matt Smith in the role of The Lord.
Directed by Flatley himself, the show blends traditional Irish dance with modern choreography and music composed by Gerard Fahy. New musical elements, updated costumes, and state-of-the-art effects elevate this legendary production for a new generation of audiences.
Rooted in a universal story of good versus evil, the performance follows the dream of the Little Spirit, where the Lord of the Dance faces off against the Dark Lord and his Warlords. The production’s stunning choreography is matched by immersive lighting and special effects, creating a sensory-rich experience that goes far beyond typical theatre.
