Getting Festive at Benguela Cove – Helicopters Welcome

Benguela Cove

Local Hermanus businesses now planning their end of year get-togethers with colleagues and clients are invited to book a visit Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate and experience the new hospitality facilities. In September, there are two ‘meet the neighbours’ events when local business people, as well as those from farther afield, are encouraged to meet the estate team and network with others in commerce.

“We have guests flying in by helicopter from Cape Town and throughout South Africa for wine tastings, lunch, and dinner. The estate is also less than 90 minutes by car from Cape Town International Airport, so Benguela is ideal for anyone planning a formal meeting or a celebration and looking for exceptional hospitality in a beautiful setting,” says Penny Streeter, the estate owner. The award-winning wine farm and hospitality venue offers a variety of options for businesses and individuals looking to organise an end-of-year event, including business meetings and celebrations with their guests.

There is an experienced team on hand to help plan any type of occasion and provide advice on event preparation and dressing a room to a particular theme, whether it is for the Christmas festivities or a corporate brand.

The estate provides a range of settings for daytime and evening activities. This includes seating for up to 180 guests in the restaurant, with additional space available in the vineyards, at the beachfront, and on the lawns. Private dining for up to 12 guests is available in the Vinotheque room, with a selection of tailored menus and vineyard wines, while the Barrel Room can seat up to 100 guests.

There are four newly constructed villas that can accommodate 30 guests overnight. An onsite generator ensures that if there is any power outage, electricity is automatically restored within 30 seconds. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be arranged, as can full use of the vineyard’s amenities for the day, including the Moody Lagoon restaurant, pontoon tour boat, tea terrace, and tasting room.

Resident chef Annie Badenhorst oversees the events at Moody Lagoon, which features warming fires and views across the tranquil lagoon, which is protected from the ocean by a sandbar. During the rest of the winter months, visitors can enjoy the seasonal tasting menu.

Buyers can schedule an online session and choose from the vineyard’s wide selection of award-winning wines, which can be delivered to guests anywhere in South Africa and beyond at a convenient event time. A Benguela Cove wine ambassador will guide guests through the wine tasting, talk informatively about each wine, and answer any questions.
