Scheduled for 8 February 2025, this year’s event will showcase one of the largest-ever gatherings of classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles in the country. Over 1,000 cars and motorcycles are set to participate, making this a one-day-only spectacle at Eden Technical High School in George.
A Historic Rolls-Royce and Bentley Showcase
For the first time, the event will feature more than 20 Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars, with models spanning from the early 1920s to modern-day examples. The oldest Bentley on display, a 1922 3-Litre Tourer, is one of the oldest surviving Bentleys in the world. Adding to the excitement, the show will feature the legendary 1930 Bentley 4.5-Litre Le Mans, owned by Harry Tayler from Cape Town, which has been meticulously restored in England.
Among the standout Rolls-Royce entries is a trio of 20/25 models from the 1930s, including an open tourer from Bob Bouwmeesters in Pretoria and a stunning 1932 Landaulette with an exposed passenger section, owned by Brian Bruce in Knysna.
British Automotive Heritage on Display
The 2025 George Old Car Show will pay tribute to British motoring excellence, featuring a range of classic Aston Martins, Jaguars, MGs, Triumphs, and Lotuses. Notably, the event will debut a recently restored 1958 Aston Martin DB2 Mk III, owned by Mark Barendse from Knysna.
A large number of classic Mini models, Morris Minors, and Ford Cortinas and Anglias will be showcased. An exciting addition is a mid-1960s Austin Westminster, powered by the same engine used in the Austin Healey 3000 sports car.
Classic Motorcycles and Unique Exhibits
Motorcycle enthusiasts will be treated to a growing collection of vintage and classic bikes, with pre-1936 models such as Ariel, Velocette, Royal Enfield, Panther, and Rudge making an appearance. The Japanese superbike revolution will also be represented, featuring legendary bikes like the Honda CB 250 Dream from 1963, Kawasaki 500 Mach III, Yamaha RD350, Ducati 900 SS, and a fully restored Suzuki Katana 1100 from 1982.
The motorcycle section will also include nine trikes and around 20 Vespa scooters entered under the Eden Vespa Club banner.
Vintage Tractors and Historic Automobiles
The vintage tractor section remains a fan favourite, featuring a newly discovered 1957 David Brown tractor that will undergo restoration. David Brown’s influence extends beyond tractors—his initials DB are found on Aston Martin sports cars, a tribute to his impact on both industries.
Classic cars from Germany, Italy, and beyond will also make their mark, with an extensive Mercedes-Benz display, including a 1913 8/20 PS roadster, a 1958 300SL, and a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the W108 series. Porsche fans can look forward to a selection of early 356 models, 911s, and 912s.
Ferrari lovers will be drawn to an immaculate Ferrari 512 TR, while Alfa Romeo and Fiat fans will find plenty to admire.
New One-Day Format & Ticketing
For the first time, the show will take place over one extended day, running from 9 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025. This change was made to enhance the experience, as many long-distance attendees previously left early on Sundays. A classic car tour will follow on Sunday for those wanting to extend their experience.
Tickets are available via iTickets, priced at R125 for adults, R100 for pensioners, and free entry for accompanied children. Visitors are encouraged to book online or pay with bank cards at the gate to speed up entry.
