Franschhoek Classic Car Festival 2024 a Spectacular Success

Franschhoek Classic Car Festival

Following the successful Launch Edition in 2023, the First Edition of the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival, held on 5-6 October 2024, was a resounding success. Car enthusiasts and visitors from across the country gathered for a sold-out weekend celebrating motoring history. Organizers extended heartfelt thanks to all the car owners, car clubs, and groups who showcased their extraordinary vehicles, as well as the exhibitors, crew, and attendees who supported the event.

The festival featured 270 invited and carefully selected cars on curated displays across two days. On Saturday, the cars were showcased at the world-class Franschhoek Motor Museum, while Sunday’s display took place at the iconic Huguenot Monument. Memorable highlights included the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT 50th and Giulietta 70th Anniversary displays, the Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary display, and the Forty of the Finest display, which featured 40 pre-1995 cars from different brands. The RIVALS Tour Parade through Franschhoek’s Main Road drew large crowds, celebrating the legendary racing rivalry between Alfa Romeo and Porsche in the 1950s.

Theo Lotter, founder and CEO of the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival, remarked that the 2024 event exceeded all expectations, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from both participants and visitors. He noted that the team is already looking forward to enhancing the experience for the 2025 event, with the goal of making the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival the premier car event in South Africa with international relevance.

For post-event coverage, highlights from the Forty of the Finest display, and updates on the next edition, visitors are encouraged to follow the festival’s social media channels or visit www.fccf.co.za.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2024 event and are eager to welcome attendees to the Second Edition of the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival in 2025.
