With many permanent residency programmes in Europe no longer available or changing their investment criteria to be more expensive, there are fewer and fewer options to consider.

Over the past few months we have seen the following substantial changes:
PORTUGAL has closed their GOLDEN VISA programme;
GREECE has increased the minimum investment amount to €500,000;
IRELAND has abolished the RESIDENCY by INVESTMENT scheme;
MALTA requires proof of assets of at least €500,000 with at least €150,000 in financial assets;
SPAIN is considering doubling the minimum investment amount or abolishing the programme altogether.
BUT…… CYPRUS is still open!
Effective 2 May 2023, Cyprus has made 2 changes to their Fast Track programme:

Unfortunately no longer do parents or parents-in-law of the main investor qualify, however the spouse and all dependent children up to age 25 do still qualify; and there is an increase in the proof of annual income for the main investor, the spouse and dependent children.
With the minimum investment remaining unchanged, this is the ONLY English-speaking country in Europe with an affordable and attractive programme that is still available!

Cyprus permanent residents do have the right to apply for citizenship following their physical presence in the country for a number of years, so will in fact follow the naturalisation programme.
