Cape Town is an Important Destination for Lufthansa

On Sunday, 27 October 2024, Lufthansa launched its advanced Allegris seat cabins on flights to Cape Town, marking a new chapter in premium travel for South Africa. This offering positions Cape Town as a prominent destination for global travellers seeking both luxury and comfort, enhancing the city’s reputation as a key hub for tourism and business.

The “Lufthansa Allegris” experience redefines travel on long-haul routes by introducing an upgraded product across all travel classes, including Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. The Allegris-equipped Airbus A350s, already in service on the Cape Town-Munich route, offer a premium experience unparalleled in the market.

Lufthansa has committed to investing 2.5 billion euros in global product and service improvements by 2025, marking a substantial upgrade for Cape Town as the first African city to feature the Allegris cabins. This initiative is anticipated to boost tourism and business travel to Cape Town and the Western Cape region.

Allegris cabins boast adjustable seating, modern entertainment systems, and private Business Class suites, available across Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. This refined offering meets the demands of travellers seeking a top-tier experience, further strengthening Cape Town’s global appeal.

As part of its expansion, Lufthansa will increase weekly flights between Cape Town and European destinations, raising connections from 15 to 17 per week. This initiative supports Cape Town’s standing as a gateway to Africa, promoting it as both a premier holiday destination and a centre for global connectivity.
