Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB) presents The Nutcracker at Artscape from 13 – 29 December 2024, closing its 90th anniversary year. Directed by Veronica Paeper and set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, this festive classic follows Clara’s magical journey with a prince through enchanted lands.
The production stars Kirstél Paterson, Leusson Muniz, and Paige McElligott, with special guests Ruan Galdino and Marcel Meyer. Young local dancers will also join the cast in charming roles. Designed by Peter Cazalet with lighting by Faheem Bardien, it blends tradition with modern flair, promising dazzling performances for all ages. A special Fairy Parade after the 24 December matinee allows children to meet the cast.
