BIRKENSTOCK has launched a new concept store at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town’s most prestigious shopping destination. The beautiful new space features a fully open shopfront flanked by wooden panels, an iconic BIRKENSTOCK footbed crafted into a lamella wood ceiling, and a marble slab with brass inlays featuring the script: German Tradition Since 1774.
The German lifestyle brand has a heritage in iconic footwear and BIRKENSTOCK’s relationship with nature is reflected in the store’s fittings, with earthy colours and natural interior design elements. The bright and contemporary store interiors feature cork, jute, and leather, reflecting the use of these natural materials in its footwear.
BIRKENSTOCK stores showcase a growing collection of products for women, men and children including sandals, shoes, boots, and socks in a comprehensive assortment of styles, colourways, and materials.
Expect to find timeless styles in neutral tones from the core collection as well as sensationally stylish seasonal styles, such as the patent leather High Shine range, super premium Bold Collection, popular suede and nubuck styles and a colourful array of waterproof EVA models.
With the rising demand for BIRKENSTOCK footwear in South Africa, the brand continues to identify prime retail locations to expand its footprint across the country. A new store opened at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Tshwane in August, while the Canal Walk and Menlyn stores have been refurbished to align with the global store concept. The ever-popular Somerset West store will be refitted early next year.
