Africa’s Green Economy Summit Returns to Cape Town as Gateway for Climate Investment

Cape Town

The fourth edition of Africa’s Green Economy Summit (AGES) returns to the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town from 24–27 February 2026. This premier deal-making platform firmly positions the city as the primary gateway for climate-positive investment on the continent.

Turning ambition into action

Beyond a traditional conference, this four-day event is strategically designed to move projects from “ambition to action,” connecting a USD 5 billion pipeline of green and blue economy ventures with a global network of institutional investors, development finance institutions, and commercial lenders intent on unlocking capital for Africa’s most pressing development priorities.

The Investment Pitch and Showcase serve as the pulsing heart of the summit, featuring a curated program of over 50 vetted projects spanning renewable energy, e-mobility, water services, and sustainable agriculture. Participants engage in intensive sector deep-dives that focus on industrial decarbonization, the future of resilient African cities, and the emerging role of nature-based solutions. A dedicated Blue Economy Track facilitates specialized dialogues on unlocking the value of Africa’s vast coastlines through marine conservation and regenerative ocean industries. To provide a tangible perspective, the summit also includes guided technical site visits to Cape Town’s leading green infrastructure projects, demonstrating how sustainable capital translates into jobs, competitiveness, and long-term regional resilience.

Did You Know? A “c” isn’t just about protecting nature; it is a powerful engine for social equity. In South Africa, transitioning to green sectors is projected to create over 460,000 new jobs by 2030 in fields like solar installation, sustainable farming, and waste-to-value innovation.
