Cape Town Leads with Green Innovation and Urban Adventures

Cape Town

Cape Town is making waves in tourism with two exciting launches that blend sustainability, culture, and exploration. City Sightseeing Cape Town has unveiled the country’s first commercial fully electric boat at the V&A Waterfront, along with a bold new addition to its portfolio—Urban Safaris, a cultural deep dive into the heart of the Mother City.

Silent Cruising on the Canals

After two years in development, the sleek electric vessel now glides silently along the canals between the V&A Waterfront and the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Seating 32 passengers, the boat promises a serene, eco-friendly experience that replaces noisy engines with the natural sounds of water and city life. Docked outside the One&Only Hotel, the vessel reflects Cape Town’s leadership in sustainable innovation with zero emissions, smooth performance, and minimal vibration for comfort.

The launch strengthens the city’s reputation as a pioneer in green tourism, while complementing new stops on the Red Bus routes, including the vibrant Hout Bay–Sentinel Precinct and wine tours through Stellenbosch.

Urban Safaris: Stories Behind the Streets

Adding to the excitement, City Sightseeing has also introduced Urban Safaris, a guided tour designed to go beyond the postcard-perfect sights. This inner-city journey takes guests through back alleys, secret streets, and cultural landmarks like the Castle of Good Hope and District Six Museum. With live storytelling, encounters with local traders and artists, and the comfort of leopard-print safari vehicles, the experience highlights the authentic soul of Cape Town. Together, these two launches mark Cape Town as a destination where sustainability meets cultural discovery—inviting visitors to see, hear, and feel the city in entirely new ways.
