The journey toward “The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon” is officially underway. As excitement builds for the 2027 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon (TTOM) powered by BYD, organizers have unveiled a free 10-part official Training Run series designed to help entrants conquer race day.
Spanning major hubs across Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Stellenbosch, the series offers runners a structured, supportive platform to build mileage, sharpen focus, and foster camaraderie long before they line up at the start line.
Building Fitness and Community
Preparing for a premier endurance event requires far more than physical conditioning—it takes a community. The TTOM Training Run series is free of charge to all registered 2027 entrants, giving participants direct access to organized group runs, route experience, and expert advice.
Chris Goldschmidt, Chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC, emphasizes that the series is designed to keep runners connected throughout their training journey:”The journey to the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon powered by BYD is about so much more than race day. Our Training Run Series gives runners the opportunity to come together, stay motivated and build towards their goals alongside fellow members of the TTOM community. We want to create that excitement and anticipation from the very first training run right through to race weekend.”
In addition to group motivation, the training series bridges the gap between participants and event partners. Runners can look forward to product experiences, brand activations, and practical guidance along the route.
Wade Bromfield, Event Director of the TTOM, highlights the value of these interactive sessions:
Value Beyond the Mileage
“Our Training Run Series gives our partners a valuable opportunity to connect with runners in an authentic, on-the-ground environment, while adding real value to their training journey. From expert advice and training support to product experiences and activations, we want every training run to offer something meaningful for the TTOM community.”
