Fitness enthusiasts and spectators can look forward to an action-packed morning when Planet Fitness, in partnership with Discovery Vitality, brings its Hybrid Games Simulation Saturday event to Cavendish Square on 4 July 2026.

From 09:00 to 13:00, the Cavendish Square parking lot in Claremont will be transformed into a race-day arena as competitors take on a series of fitness challenges in one of Planet Fitness’ most anticipated Season 1 Hybrid Games events. With pumping music, a lively crowd, and athletes pushing themselves to the limit, the event promises an energetic atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

More Than Just a Competition

According to Planet Fitness, Simulation Saturday is designed as more than a fitness competition. The event combines athletic performance with entertainment, creating an experience that draws people together through training, encouragement, and community spirit.

A key feature of the day will be the music provided by DJ BamBam, who will keep the energy levels high throughout the event. As competitors move through their heats, spectators will be able to enjoy the action from the sidelines while supporting friends, family members, and fellow fitness enthusiasts.

Planet Fitness says the event reflects its belief that training is more powerful when it is shared and that people often discover an extra level of performance when supported by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Challenge Ahead

The Hybrid Games format will test participants across six stations completed within a 23-minute challenge.

Competitors will move through a sequence that includes running, SkiErg, walking lunges with a sandbag, rowing, and wall balls. Athletes will perform at maximum effort for two minutes at each station, followed by a one-minute rest period before moving on to the next challenge.

Results will be recorded throughout the event, with the best totals logged. The top male and female competitor in each age category will qualify for the Hybrid Games finals taking place in November.

Heats will run continuously between 09:00 and 13:00.

Activities for Spectators

The event is not only aimed at competitors. Visitors attending the event can also explore activation stands hosted by USN and Discovery Vitality.

These activations will feature product samples, treats, hampers, and giveaways, adding to the festival-like atmosphere throughout the morning.

Spectator entry is free, and no registration is required to attend.

Open to All

Registration is open to anyone between the ages of 16 and 70, regardless of whether they are Planet Fitness members.

Participants must register online in advance, complete payment, and receive heat confirmation. Tickets will not be available on the day of the event.

Entry fees are R150 for Planet Fitness members and Elevate members, while Discovery Vitality members and non-members pay R200.

With fitness, music, competition, and community all coming together in one location, Simulation Saturday is set to deliver a memorable experience for participants and spectators when the Hybrid Games return to Cavendish Square this July.
