Shape Your Future with a Bachelor of Hospitality Management
Studying at a hospitality school provides a comprehensive skillset in customer service, communication, leadership and adaptability, making graduates well-suited for a diverse range of careers within the hospitality and service industries, while also developing transferable soft skills valuable in many other sectors.
One of the courses – The IIE Bachelor of Hospitality Management – is designed to equip students with the ability to strategically, professionally and ethically contribute in a meaningful way to the hospitality industry through professional service delivery of specialised hospitality products and services.
Flexible Learning, Real-World Experience
It is offered as a full-time three year course at the IIEHSM campuses in Johannesburg and Cape Town or as a four to six year online course.
The programme design facilitates the development of a well-rounded hospitality and service graduate supported with a solid foundation in hospitality operations, hospitality and business management that allows for comprehensive in-depth theoretical knowledge and understanding to be applied within the context of the hospitality industry. The inclusion of management related modules supports the teaching of student competencies required for contemporary, small business and strategic management.
It offers three specialised pathways: Food and Beverage Management, Culinary and Kitchen Management and Operational Hospitality Management.
Students get hands-on practical experience through the school’s Work Integrated Learning module, which allows for immersion in the daily operations of hospitality establishments.
Diverse Career Paths Await
Following graduation, career options include hospitality focused roles including positions such as general manager, rooms divisions manager, food and beverage manager, concierge and guest relations manager. Service centric roles include customer success manager, client-relations manager, member services specialist, customer support manager And customer experience manager.

IIEHSM’s Open Day this month will take place on Saturday, May 10, and Saturday, May 24, from 09h00 to 12h00. The Open Days will be held at each of the school’s two campuses – at Newlands in Cape Town and at Rosebank in Johannesburg.
