FynArts Festival 2025 A Celebration of Creativity, Culture, and Connection

FynArts Festival 2

In a world full of uncertainty, the FynArts Festival stands as a highlight you can count on. From June 6 – 16, this dynamic celebration offers a packed lineup of must-see performances, thought-provoking talks, and inspiring experiences. Whether you’re discovering rising stars or revisiting cherished favourites, the 13th edition of the FynArts Festival guarantees excitement and fresh perspectives.

The festival kicks off in style with four major performances over the opening weekend (6 – 8 June). Immerse yourself in creativity at its finest, from the Opening Concert of timeless classics, to the lively Strauss Bicentenary Concert, led by Richard Cock, and the stunning Cape Ballet Africa with extracts from SALT. The weekend wraps up with Songs of Praise, a powerful choral experience that has been captivating audiences for over three decades. And for the rest of the ten days the music plays on, from jazz and classical to cabaret, and contemporary.

The Strauss & Co Series of Presentations brings a diverse range of thought-provoking discussions, starting with a deep dive into the arts with Minister Gayton McKenzie, the opening speaker and Dr. Ismail Mahomed. Topics span from The Soul of Vincent van Gogh and Fun Adventures in Space Science, to The Madness of Orchids and the Origin of Symbolism in Art, offering something to spark every imagination.

Popular Creative Workshops are back with exciting options, from ceramics and photography to drumming and culinary arts.

Debut authors will also take the stage to discuss their newly released books, covering everything from fiction and memoir to dystopian worlds.

Two firsts for this year are Wake Up with Daily Maverick, an early morning series of discussions on current affairs, and three days of live broadcasts by Fine Music Radio.
