‘Cape Town once again sets the stage for excitement on and off the field. It’s going to be a fun-filled weekend of rugby, dancing and music and I am looking forward to a spectacular show. The Cape Town SVNS plans to make history by attempting to break the world record attempt for the largest ever Amapiano dance-off at a rugby match.
Led by the two-time world hip-hop champions, Cape Town’s own Street Stylers, fans are invited to dress up and be part of the “Amapiano #NoDNA JustRSA” dance on Sunday, 8 December 2024.
The group has hosted public workshops throughout the city over the last month to teach fans the dance ahead of the world record attempt.

Music stage
Over the past nine years, the Cape Town SVNS has proven to be more than just a rugby tournament. It has become a vibrant festival celebrating sports, music and an all-round good time.
This year, Amapiano takes centre stage with two of the popular music genre’s biggest stars – Tyler ICU and Kamo Mphela – set to headline the Cape Town SVNS.
The pair, along with DJ Ready D, Roger Goode, Neon Dreams and Gremlin, are set to light up the rugby festival on 7 and 8 December 2024. In addition to the music performances, the festival has lined up other performances including acrobatic motorcycles, dancers and more.
Getting to DHL Stadium
As a result of the event, a number of roads in and around the Green Point Precinct will be closed, resulting in traffic congestion.
Spectators are encouraged to make use of the free MyCiTi shuttle to the stadium.
Cape Town SVNS ticket holders can get on a bus for free from the Civic Centre, Thibault Square and CTICC on Saturday and Sunday.
Those making use of the bus can find parking at the CTICC (paid parking), the Civic Centre and on-street parking.
At the Civic Centre, the City will open its 475 parking bays for ticketed rugby fans on a first-come, first-served basis from 07:30. The parking areas are accessible from Hertzog Boulevard incoming and on Civic Road.

Gates for the two-day tournament open at 08:00, with the first game scheduled to kick off at 09:00.
The Blitzboks are playing their first game at 11:44 on Saturday against Ireland and will be closing the show for the day with a mouth-watering clash against Argentina at 18:41.
