Plett Ocean FestZandile Ndhlovu, also known as Zandi, the Black Mermaid, returns to MC the Marine Science Symposium. As South Africa’s first black female freediving instructor, her journey from the 2022 launch to now includes notable achievements such as authoring a children’s book and participating in the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. Her enthusiasm for community engagement and ocean advocacy is contagious.

A Fresh Symposium Format

The 2024 symposium introduces a revamped format, organizing presentations into Sessions for a more immersive experience. This new structure allows for a variety of participation options, from single sessions to full three-day passes, with an Early Bird Special available until May 13, 2024.
