The Norwegian Jade and the Seven Seas Voyager moored in Mossel Bay on 20 December 2022 and painted an idyllic picture for many Mossel Bayers.
The Norwegian Jade had 1,800 passengers on board, with 777 coming ashore. Some will venture inland with guided tours on 25 luxury tour buses, while around 80 explored the town’s tourist attractions on foot.
Of the Seven Seas Voyager, with 610 passengers, 420 came ashore, and 74 enjoyed discovering the shops and eateries.
The first passenger ship moored between 08:00 and 8:30, after which the second followed. The ships’ travel agents arrange pre-booked tours based on the interests of the passengers and included visits to neighbouring tourism destinations such as game farms.
Mossel Bay Tourism’s Acting Chief Operating Officer, Lieschke Steven Jennings has worked hard to promote cruise tourism to Mossel Bay.
The office of Mossel Bay Tourism was assisting the ships’ passengers with advice and action on points of interest that are worth a visit. Some passengers ventured to the museum and other points of interest.
“My sincere thanks to every resident who welcomes the dozens of guests with ICONIC hospitality and a friendly smile to our beautiful town. Every smile or nod towards our guests helps in the marketing of our beautiful surroundings. We are confident that all our guests and holidaymakers will have an incredible experience and will soon choose Mossel Bay as their preferred holiday destination next time,” said Mayor Dirk Kotzé Executive Mayor of the Mossel Bay.
